Abstract

ABSTRACT: This monograph was developed using a mixed methodology and a descriptive, interpretative, and hermeneutic approach. It analyzed balances, figures, data, statistics, and comparative tables, along with a critical and reflective review of the information. Information was collected from scientific journals, international treaties, doctrine, and current legislation, both nationally and internationally, on the topic under consideration. The main objective was to address the authors' questions, which included identifying the legal gap in Colombian legislation that turns domestic violence against men into a form of silenced violence. The causes of the increase in cases of domestic violence against men in Medellin from March 2020 to March 2022, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, were also examined. The first chapter focused on analyzing Colombian and international legislation on domestic violence, with a distinction between aggression, physical abuse, and psychological abuse. The second chapter explored the causes of this type of violence during the mentioned period, with an emphasis on silenced violence and the investigated passive subject. Finally, the third chapter presented a detailed analysis of the collected figures and statistics, showing the magnitude of the phenomenon studied.
